Prof. Xiao-Zhi Gao

Xiao-Zhi Gao received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 1993 and 1996, respectively. He earned the D.Sc. (Tech.) de-gree from the Helsinki University of Technol¬ogy (now Aalto University), Finland in 1999. Since January 2004, he has been working as a Docent (Adjunct Professor) at the same university. He is also a Guest/Visiting Professor at the Harbin Institute of Tech-nology, Beijing Normal University, and Shanghai Maritime University, China. Dr. Gao has published more than 300 technical papers on refereed journals and interna-tional conferences. His current research interests are nature-inspired computing meth-ods (e.g., neural networks, fuzzy logic, evolutionary computing, swarm intelligence, and artificial immune systems) with their applications in optimization, data mining, control, signal processing, and industrial electronics. Dr. Gao is an Associate Editor of the Applied Soft Computing, International Journal of Machine Learning and Cybernet-ics, Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing, International Journal of In-novative Computing, Information and Control, and International Journal of Swarm Intelligence and Evolutionary Computation. He also serves in the editorial boards of numerous international journals.

Prof. Nupur Prakash

Prof. Nupur Prakash is the founder Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women established by Govt. of Delhi in 2013 as the first Women’s Technical University. She possesses a work experience of around 30 years in research, teaching and academic administration, with several years spent holding key leadership positions. She has been educated at IIT Roorkee (erstwhile University of Roorkee) and possesses a brilliant track record as an academician and administrator in the field of Engineering and Technology. She has recently been honored for “ Outstanding Contribution to Education” at 22nd Devang Mehta Business School Award held in Mumbai on 15th Nov 2014 and JGBS-Top Rankers Excellence Award for Women Role Model”, Delhi on 16th Jan 2015. She has also received the “Inspiring Women Edu-leader” award on International Women’s Day on 1st March 2014, by Engineering Watch.
A recipient of the Chancellor’s Medal for being the best outgoing student of University of Roorkee in 1981, Dr. Nupur Prakash completed her B.E. (Electronics & Communication Engineering) and M.E. (Computer Science & Technology) degree from University of Roorkee (now I.I.T. Roorkee) and PhD (Computer Engineering) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in the area of Natural language Processing using Artificial Neural Network. A keen researcher with quest for knowledge, she has worked as a Scientist at CSIO, Chandigarh (a CSIR lab) from 1983 to 1985 and was involved in design, research and development of microprocessor based instruments.
She was actively involved in establishing the dept. of Computer Engg. at the prestigious S.G.S. Institute of Technology and Science, Indore, M.P. during 1986 to 1989. Later on, she served the dept. of Computer Sc. and Engg. at PEC University of Technology (erstwhilePunjab Engineering College), Chandigarh for ten years (1991-2000) in different capacities and became the youngest and the first woman Head of the Dept. in 1994.
She has served as Dean, University School of ICT, GGS Indraprastha University during 2006-2008, and also held the post of Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (2009-12) at GGS Indraprastha University.
Dr. Nupur Prakash is a member of Governing Council and Advisory Board of several Engineering Colleges and Management Institutes of India. She is on the editorial board of several IT Magazines and Journals. She has been a reviewer for several conference and Journal papers on Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, E-learning and Secure Wireless Networks at National and International level.
She has been a nominated by AICTE, NBA, UGC, DIT (Ministry of Comm & IT, Govt. of India), NIC, DOEACC (NIELIT), CDAC and DIT (Govt of Delhi) as expert member of various committees. Her major areas of interest are Mobile Communication, Network Security, Cryptography, Secure Wireless Communication and Natural language Processing. She has guided 9 PhD scholars and authored more than 100 research papers and articles for various national and international journals/conferences of repute. She is a life member of professional bodies like Computer Society of India (CSI) and Associate member of Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), USA.
Dr. P K Jain
Associate Director, Satellite Communication & Navigation Programmes, ISRO, Bangalore
He has been working in ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore as Associate Director for planning and implementation of Satellite Communication & Navigation Programme of ISRO. He has also held the responsibility of implementing various Application-Programmes of ISRO like Tele-education, Search and Rescue, DTH based Disaster Warning Dissemination System, etc.
He started his career with National Remote Sensing Centre (ISRO), Hyderabad in 1989 and has also worked in Space Applications Centre (ISRO), Ahmedabad from 2002 to 2005.
He received two ISRO Team Excellence Awards in 2009 for implementing “Tele-education programme” and “Disaster Warning and Communication Systems”. He is also the recipient of the IETE – Biman Behari Sen Memorial Award (2010) for distinguished contribution in implementation of various satcom based societal application programmes, establishing remote sensing and satcom ground stations and development of various satcom subsystems. He is recipient of D.V. Nirmal & Mangal Sain Award (BES-2012 Award) by Broadcast Engineering Society (India) in recognition of his contribution for outstanding work in broadcasting.

Prof. Raj Kamal
Former Vice Chancellor and Professor in Computer Science and Electronics, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, M.P.
Raj Kamal (b. 1949) did his M.Sc. at the age of 17, published his first research paper in a UK journal at the age of 18, and his first program, written in FORTRAN that ran at ICT 1904, also at the age of 18 and completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, at 22. He did his post doctoral studies (1978-79) at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden a World class university. He has 49 years of experience in research and teaching. He has worked also been to for post doctoral studies. He has thus far successfully guided 17 Ph.D. students, presently guiding five Ph. D. students and has published 142 research papers in journals and conferences of both international and national repute. He is immensely popular among the students of the emerging fields in Computer Science, Electronics and Information Technology areas.
